 You form a precise gesture with your hands, touching thumbs and fingertips to create a frame, focusing on a creature you are familiar with and have met.

 If the target is within range they become aware that someone is attempting to reach out to them. The target may use their reaction within 3 rounds to mirror the gesture. The target sees an image of the gesture in their mind urging them to mirror it, they know the result if they mirror the gesture, and they see a mental image of the caster attempting to contact them.

 If they do mirror the gesture, a two-way visual and auditory link forms between your gestures, allowing you to see and speak to each other through a shimmering portal framed by your fingers as if you were face to face. If the target does not mirror the gesture the caster becomes aware of it and regains the spell slot used to cast the spell, and the caster cannot target that creature for 24 hours.

 The link lasts until either participant stops making the required hand gesture.

 Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. The range increases with a level 3 spell slot (100 miles), level 4 (1000 miles), level 5 (same plane of existence).
