You point at a creature within range, and utter the name of the spell, giving them the "affixed" status. "Affixed" creatures have a movement speed of 0 ft., cannot take reactions, and all attacks against them have advantage. "Affixed" creatures automatically fail saves requiring DEX or STR. At the start of an "affixed" creature's turn, they must make a CON saving throw against your spell save DC, taking 2d8 + 1 force damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one, then ending the "affixed" condition no matter the outcome of the save.
If used on an inanimate object, that object becomes frozen in place for 8 hours, or until dispelled by the caster. Objects frozen in this state cannot be moved at all. This state can alos be ended early by spells such as dispel magic.
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the force damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd.
