You weave an illusion over a 20-foot-radius area centered on your location at the time of casting. The illusion persists for its full duration regardless of where you go afterward.

From outside the area, it appears as natural, uninviting terrain — dense undergrowth, boggy ground, a rockfall, or similar, chosen by you at casting. No light, sound, or smell produced within the area escapes its perimeter. Creatures already inside the area see and hear its true contents normally, in every direction.

The illusion provides no physical concealment or protection — it doesn't stop weapons, missiles, spells, or any other effect from entering or leaving, and offers no cover.

A creature that walks into the area perceives its true contents from that point on and can tell others who remain outside what it looks like, though the illusion continues to function for anyone who hasn't entered. A creature can also discern the illusion for what it is with a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC if it studies the area, as with other illusions of this kind. Detect Magic reveals it as illusion magic without revealing what it conceals, and True Seeing sees through it entirely.
