You command an attuned Aetherium Orb to erupt into copper tendrils that seize a creature you can see within range.
The target must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the tendrils violently lift the creature up to 20 feet into the air before accelerating it back toward the ground. The target takes 5d6 force damage and falls prone.
On a successful save, the target takes half as much damage and is neither moved nor knocked prone in their original place.
The movement caused by this spell does not provoke opportunity attacks.
If there is insufficient space above the target, the tendrils instead wrench the creature upward as far as possible before slamming it back into the nearest solid surface. The spell’s damage already represents the force of the impact and does not cause additional falling damage.
At Higher Levels. The damage increases by 1d6 for each spell slot level above 2.
