A Borrowed Mercy

A Borrowed Mercy

Cantrip-level necromancy (curse)

For one fleeting moment, the dead remember how to nurture.

When you cast a spell that restores hit points or magically encourages plant growth, a spectral flower or ghostly root briefly manifests beside the target. Pale light spills from its translucent petals, and faint whispers echo from somewhere beneath the earth.

The triggering spell functions normally. This effect has no additional mechanical benefit, and the spectral growth fades at the end of the turn.

Creatures that can see the manifestation may recognize it as a sign of the Hollow Howl or another supernatural corruption at the DM's discretion.
