Regularly cast before a long rest, this spell allows for the casters physical body to take a long rest while their astral form separates from their body. Concentration can be maintained while asleep or resting. While in this form, they cannot interact with any objects on the material plane that were not a part of the ritual when it was cast. Their astral form is as visible as they wish it to be, but is always visible to creatures with Truesight and to others on the astral plane, or those with the ability to see onto the astral plane. This spell lasts as long as the character is asleep or resting, or 8 hours. When the casting ends, the casters spirit is shunted across the land and back into their body.
The casters astral form can travel a distance determined by their level: 1 mile at level 3, 5 miles at level 7, 50 miles at level 11, 100 miles at level 15, and 1000 miles at level 20.
The success of this spell is determined by rolling 1d20+ the casters spellcasting modifier. On a 1-7, the spell fails, and the caster only yields the benefits of a Short Rest. On a 8-13, the character is able to astral project, but still only gains the benefits of a Short Rest. On a 13 or above, the caster can astral project and gains the benefit of a Long Rest.
