You create four shards of razor-sharp ice that last until thrown or for the duration. You can throw a shard when you cast this spell and as an action on each of your turns.
When thrown, make a ranged spell attack at a target within range. On a hit, the target takes 1d4 cold damage. If the target takes any of this damage, it becomes chilled until the end of your next turn. A chilled target takes an additional 3d4 cold damage from the shards.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage to chilled targets increases by 2d4 for each slot level above the 2nd.
