Life Draining energy radiates from you in an aura with a 30-foot radius. Until the spell ends, the aura moves with you, centered on you. You can use a bonus to atempt to draing the life from a creature within range that you can see. The target must make a constitution save. On a failed save, the target takes 2d6 necrotic damage and and is poisoned until its next turn. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage, and suffers no other effect.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the number of targets increases by 1 for each slot level above 3rd. If you use a spell slot of 6th level, the creature is poisoned for 2 extra turns. If you use a spell slot of 9th level, the creature is poisoned for 4 extra turns.
