Harold the wretch decided to increase his chances to escape prison. He realized he was letting the guards get too close, so he devoted his life to making this spell. Because shortly after finishing it, he curled over from a heart attack. The guards eventually put it in the mage fighting orders and it has been a staple till this day.
As part of the action used to cast this spell, you must make a melee attack with a weapon against one creature within the spell's range, otherwise the spell fails. A spectral copy of the item used as your material springs to attack the target. On a hit, the opponent takes 1d6 of the damage type of the weapon as if it were a magic weapon. When an Arcane Trickster uses this spell as part of a sneak attack, the rogue damage is applied to the attack, this does give away their location. This weapon does not count as a valid toward the Dueling Fighting Style. This spell also works with the Warlock Pact Weapons.
This spells damage increases as you reach higher levels: at 5th level add an additional 1d6, at 11th level add another 1d6, and at 17th level add another 1d6
