When this ritual is performed, it puts an enchantment on a wooden stamping tool that allows only those stamped with the tool to read certain scrolls, books, or tomes. Those tomes have to be stamped with the sign as well for the spell to work properly.
To anyone without the stamp, these papers would look blank. However, anyone who gets the mark stamped on their body (usually their hand) can not see the language on the paper.
The ink must be squid ink, and it must be kept in a rose-colored glass dish, or the spell will not work as advertised.
* - (A wooden stamp, squid ink kept in a rose-glass bottle)
