You attempt to send a creature that you can see within range to a pocket dimension where it is captured, tamed and available for use in a following combat situation. The target must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or be banished.
This spell effects any non humanoid creature with a challenge rating equal to or below the number spell slot that the spell is cast with. Once the target is captured, they are available in your inventory to be used when desired.
To summon the creature pick an unoccupied space that you can see within range during combat (within 5ft of the spell-caster) and use an action to cast the spell again with a spell slot of equal or higher to the creature's challenge rating. This opens the pocket dimension and allows the creature to pass into the spell-caster's plane of existence.
The summoned creature is friendly to you and your companions. Roll initiative for the summoned creature, which has it's own turn. It obeys any verbal commands that you issue to it (no action required by you). If you don't issue any commands to it, it defends itself from hostile creatures, but otherwise takes no actions.
The creature remains with the party until the end of the combat. Once the party is out of combat the stress of existing in servitude across multiple dimensions becomes too much for the creature and it takes 130 (20d12) Psych Damage.
