Using a musical instrument, you draw a diabolical rhythm from the Abyssal plane and compel a single creature of your choice to dance to it's tune. The creature jerks and twists so violently that it causes itself physical harm. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw, and on a failed save it takes 3d6 physical damage, becomes frightened for the rest of this turn, and must immediately use its reaction (if available) to dance as far away from you as its speed allows. The creature doesn’t move into obviously dangerous ground, such as a fire or a pit. On a successful save, the target takes half as much damage and doesn’t become frightened or have to move away. A deafened creature automatically succeeds on the save.

You are able to choose the style of dancing that the creature does, by focusing on a specific layer of the infinite planes of the Abyss; your target may perform a Waltz of Doom, Satanic Samba, Malevolent Merenge ...  or perhaps some Demonic Disco.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 1st.
