You look at the creature whilst holding the material component and in abyssal say something that equates to the word drown.drawing from the depths of the elemental plane of water inky black fluid starts to build within the body as the water finds the most vulnerable parts of the body.
The creatures lungs (or equivalent of lungs) automatically start to fill with water as they start to suffocate.
At the beginning of each of there turns water starts building in their lungs at the beginning of each of there turns they make a constitution saving throw if they fail they take 3d6 cold damage and on every turn after add an additional d6 cold damage to damage. If they succeed they instead take half damage.
the creature may use their action to attempt to cough up water making a con save against your spell save dc if they succeed they reduce the amount of damage by 2d6 if the damage is reduced to or below 0d6 the spell ends.
Should they fall unconscious they may not succeed on death saving throws as per the drowning rule until the spell has ended.
if a spell slot of level 6 or higher is used you increase the initial damage by 1d6 per spell level above 5th
