The air around the caster swirls with powerful wind in a cylinder six feet in diameter and eight feet tall.  The wind cannot be shaped, it is simply a mass of moving air that stays within three feet of the caster.

This pocket of wind keeps fog, smoke, and other gases including gaseous creatures at bay.  Small or smaller flying creatures or objects can't pass through the wall. Loose, lightweight materials brought into the wall fly upward. Arrows, bolts, and other ordinary projectiles launched at targets behind the wall are deflected upward and suffer -1/level of the caster to hit the caster.  Thus, if the caster is 10th level, an arrow shot at the caster would suffer -10 to hit.  Large items, such as boulders thrown by a giant, are not affected.

The caster cannot use missile weapons to attack while this spell is in affect.
