A series of small, shimmering steps made of ice appear in a 30-foot line within range. The first of these steps is approximately one foot off the ground, and the steps can lead a diagonal path ending up to 30 feet in the air. A number of creatures of the casters choice equal to the caster's spellcasting modifier may traverse these steps with sure footing. A creature not chosen that attempts to use the path must make a dexterity saving throw or slip and fall, suffering falling damage as normal as well as falling prone.

As a bonus action after casting, the caster may end the spell and cause one of the two below effects of their choosing:

Deluge: The ice melts into water and creates a torrent of pleasant rain in a 30 foot cube centered on the line created by this spell. The rain is harmless to any creature, unless it would otherwise be affected by a large bout of heavy rainfall. This rainfall can extinguish objects or creatures that are ablaze.

Shatter: The ice rapidly expands and falls to the ground in sharp fragments. Each creature within 5 feet of the line must make a Dexterity Saving Throw. A target takes 6d6 cold damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
