Control (...)

You touch a humanoid that is unconscious. You become telepathically linked and can control what the target sees, hears, and senses for the duration, which it experiences as if awake. You describe to the DM what phantasm you want the target to see or hear. The target can make an Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC. If successful, the target can determine that it is a hallucination, but this does not end the spell. Even if it knows it is hallucinating, it cannot escape via saving throws and the effect only ends when the duration expires, if you lose concentration, of if you choose to end the spell. The hallucination can be as realistic as you desire, even indistinguishable from real life. The target is utterly immersed in the virtual world you have created, and is unable to be woken in the real world until the spell ends. If you want to, you can talk to the target, who will hear your voice telepathically. You can also control the target’s movements against its will in the virtual world, and compel its virtual body to do acts it might not agree with.

The spell cannot deal physical damage, but can make the target confused, frightened, or temporarily insane if you show it horrors. You can manipulate any senses of the target, for example causing it to hear endless screaming next to its ear, feel like it is free falling into a dark bottomless chasm, drowning under the ice of a lake, suffocating under scorching hot sand, melting in lava, starving to death in a cave, chased down an endless corridor, or being gored and ripped apart by monsters. Previously using a Detect Thoughts spell enables you to show the target’s home or loved ones in the hallucination, giving advantage to a roll to cause temporary insanity in the target at the end of the maximum duration.

The spell can be used to show pleasant things, such as a paradise, or to embrace a lost family member, or to show a vision of a God to the target. If you cast the spell on yourself, you have full control of the hallucination and can end the spell at any time. Casters of this spell are warned against using it on themselves as they might grow too attached to the sweet music, delicious meals, divine powers, fictional tropical palaces, and passionate beautiful lovers they invent for themselves. More than a few mages have died after forgetting and neglecting their real physical bodies in this way, for although you may be lusting and feasting in the virtual world, your real body is shrivelling on the cold floor.

* - (a vial of boiled Ayahuasca, which the spell consumes)
