Posted Mar 2, 2021I love the idea of this spell! My only comment would be to maybe make it a slightly higher level or make the answers vaguer. Learning all of their vulnerabilities and resistances by using my first action in combat seems a little overpowered. A way I could think to tone down the effect would be having the target make a saving throw, like the Cobalt Soul "extract aspects" ability. Or have the answers the DM gives to be a bit vaguer. Instead of learning what the HP or specific stats of the creature is, the caster learns if the creature is their superior, equal, or inferior in the given stat. If I have 17 INT and analyze a creature with 16 INT, the DM tells me the creature is my equal, since the modifiers would be the same. Stuff like that, but that's just my two cents. I love the idea of this spell!
