You create an aura around yourself which is filled with tiny spectral insects. These insects emit an audible chattering noise, and turn dim light within 10 feet of you into darkness, and bright light in the same area to dim light.
When you cast this spell, you can designate any number of creatures you can see to be unaffected by it. An affected creature's speed is halved in the area, and when the creature enters the area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 4d6 poison damage and is poisoned until the end of your next turn. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn't poisoned.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 4th.
