Drawing upon the energies of dying timelines, possible fragmenting realities now fading out of existence and being reabsorbed by the multiverse, you can take a fragment of that timeline, and shape it into an echo of yourself in your current reality. When you cast the spell, you shape a gray magical duplicate of yourself. It is a magical object with an Armor Class equal to 13 + the level of spell slot used for this spell. The echo must stand within 30 feet of you. The echo has 10 hit points, and uses your saving throw bonuses when forced to make a saving throw. When you cast a spell or make an attack roll with a weapon, you can have the spell or attack originate from the space the echo is occupying.
Additionally, if you cast a spell through the echo that requires concentration, it may concentrate on it for you. When you or the echo takes damage while the echo is concentrating on a spell, you must make a concentration check for the spell the echo is concentrating on, as well as any other spell you are concentrating on at the same moment.
The echo remains until dispelled or it is reduced to 0 hit points. When your echo takes damage, you may take a reaction to cause the damage that the echo takes be transfered to you, instead of the echo. You may only have one echo at a time. If you cast this spell again before the previous echo has perished, the previous echo disappears, and the previous casting of the spell ends. As a bonus action, you may move the Echo up to 30 feet any direction. As a bonus action, you may dismiss the echo, and you regain hit points equal to the hit points the echo has currently.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the echo has 5 extra hit points per level of the spell slot above 4th level.

Question and suggestion. It sounds like this echo's main purpose besides distraction is to be used for concentration on an already casted spell that requires it to free up the casters mind for other things. The caster can move it about (up to 30) feet in any direction provided there is a surface for it to stand on and get to? (ie not floating above you). Suggestion - maybe at even higher levels give it a fainter appears that either slightly camouflages it or makes it even more translucent to avoid detection. It would have to be visible in some fashion, but not as much so to avoid detection. Assuming the standard version of the spell is more like a mirror image translucency vs ghostlike.
This type of echo does have to stand, it cannot float like the Echo Knight's echo, just to make it more available to take attacks.
I don't know about the additional scaling. . . Thanks for the recommendation, though. Also, thanks for looking through my homebrew.
What types of attacks can it make? Just any the caster can except spells must be cast through it from the caster? Like if the caster uses a quarter staff etc do they have a echo of a staff they use too?
My pleasure, these are really making me want to roll a mage. I have druids at the moment.
You can do that, yes. Any type of attack or spell.
