Upon completion of the casting of the spell all enemies the spellcaster can see, within 60 feet and within 30 feet of each other, must make a Wisdom Saving Throw. Failure shows no immediate effect upon the targets for the duration of the day.
However, once the targets fall asleep they are wracked with terrible nightmares. Upon waking there is no noticeable difference as their nightmares follow them into the waking world. The targets have no idea that their nightmares are unseen by those around them. Any damage incurred by target as a result of interactions with their nightmares is real however and Healing Spells only heal half their amount while the target is afflicted.
Only Remove Curse or Greater Restoration can remove Nightmare’s effects.
