You cause fiery vines to reach out and attempt to ensnare a creature. Choose a point on the ground within range. The vines reach out from that point and have a range of 30 feet.
Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit the target is restrained for the duration. If target was flying and has a means of hovering whilst restrained then they remain in place, otherwise they fall to the ground and land prone, taking any appropriate fall damage. A restrained target is pulled 10 feet towards the origin of the vines at the start of each of your subsequent turns.
At the start of each of its turns the restrained creature takes 2d8 fire damage. The target can make a Strength saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd.
