Choose a construct or undead creature from the Monster Manual or other bestiary whose CR is equal to one third your level (rounded down, max. CR 2). The creature must be of Large size or smaller. That creature is created with the book’s stats and placed under your control, but visually appears as a creature of comparable size and shape sculpted from flesh and metal.
The creature loses any spellcasting ability, ability to speak or understand languages you don’t know, health regeneration, as well as legendary or lair actions. Your DM can choose to retain, add, or remove creature abilities based on their compatibility with this spell.
Using an action, you can touch the creature and expend one spell slot to heal the creature equal to the spell slot level * 5.
You can use a bonus action to command the creature, and the creature will do its best to complete the command. When it isn’t given a command or finishes the previous one, it will do nothing except defend itself from attacks.
Upon casting this spell, the spell slot used becomes expended and cannot be recovered until the spell ends. You can choose to end the spell at any time as a free action, destroying your creature. If the construct is destroyed by any means, the spell ends.
* - (metal of value equal to 20 gold * CR of the creature created, which the spell consumes)
