Coin of Allegiance

After casting this spell, determine the exact nature of the allegiance you are testing, and share it with the DM before making the required observations and Wisdom check. Valid test targets include an individual, a specified group of people, a faction, an organization, or a government.

After observing a creature of intelligence 6 or higher carefully for one minute, you flip the coin into the air and make a Wisdom (Insight) check, with advantage. The DC is equal to 10 + the creature's Charisma modifier + its proficiency bonus.

Failure means that the coin is destroyed, and you are not able to observe the creature's allegiance at all, and you must wait at least one hour before testing the creature again.

Upon a success, the coin lands either heads up, tails up, or on its edge. Heads up means that the creature that you have observed is friendly to the person(s) or group being tested. If the coin lands on its edge, this means that the creature is indifferent. Landing tails indicates that the creature is hostile toward the person(s) or group being tested.

If a creature is friendly to a group, organization, or government, this means that it supports or follows that group, organization, or government. Indifference in such cases means that the creature is unaware, doesn't care, or is on the fence with regard to the organization. A creature that is hostile toward such group, organization, or government is against it, and either working actively to thwart it or would need very little persuasion to become involved in such a plot.
