You attempt to impose your will on a humanoid you can see within range. It must make a Wisdom saving throw, and does so with advantage if you or your companions are fighting it. If it fails the saving throw, it is charmed by you for the duration.
Whilst under the effects of this charm, the target does the following:
- It acts on your turn, taking any actions or movement at the same time you do.
- The target can’t voluntarily take any actions or reactions unless you take that action at that time.
- Attack rolls against the target have advantage, and it automatically fails strength and dexterity saving throws and ability checks unless you’re making the same saving throw or check at that time.
- If you move then the target immediately moves the same distance in the same direction for the same distance until it’s movement is expended. If you move in such a way as to cause the target to try to move through a wall then it expends further movement as it walks on the spot until you move in such a way as to force the target to move into an unoccupied space.
- If you take the attack action then it also attacks a creature in the same direction with the same movements you do, however their attack is made at disadvantage if the target has an appropriate readied weapon for that action, or fails if they lack an appropriate readied weapon.
- If you cast another spell, then the target can choose to cast the same spell if the spell is known to them or on their class list, expending any spell slot(s) as required.
At the end of each of its turns, the target can make another Wisdom saving throw, and does so at advantage if it has taken damage this turn. On a success, the spell ends on the target. The spell also ends on a target if it is ever more than 30 feet away from you.
When the spell ends on a target it resumes its original initiative count in the current round if it hasn't already acted in it, or on its original initiative count in the next round if it already acted in the current round.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you can target one additional humanoid for each slot level above 3rd. The humanoids must be within 30 feet of each other when you target them.
