You touch one willing creature that shares a language with you and create a magical contract between you and the target. You and the target take turns proposing a condition for the contract. You and the target may each refuse a proposal. Once you and the target have agreed upon the contract terms, the contract is signed. You and the target must abide by the conditions set by the contract and may not act in direct opposition to its exact terms, though you both may interpret the direct wording of the contract. For example, if a contract requires you or the target to steal “a Rakshasa’s heart”, the affected creature may interpret that to either be the heart within a Rakshasa’s body or any heart a Rakshasa has in their possession.
The spell ends if the terms of the contract are satisfied, you or the target die, or you or the target use a Wish spell to nullify the contract. If you or the target are brought back to life before the contracts terms have been met, the contract is reinstated. You and the target know if the spell ends for any reason, though you do not know the reason. You and the target also know if the contract is reinstated.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you and the target may each add an additional condition to the agreement for each slot level above 3rd.
