Chained life link

A thick chain extends to the target and wraps around them, it then quickly fades to the ethereal plane leaving the target with a cold feeling in their chest. This link lasts through the duration or when the caster receives damage.

All damage that the caster would receive is instead transferred to the other target of the spell, if the target of the spell is killed by the result of the bond any remaining damage is then transferred to the caster. The target dies if the remaining damage equals or exceeds their hit point maximum.

The chain is invisible and can only be seen and interacted with on the ethereal plane. On the ethereal plane the chain can be broken on a strength DC of 15 causing no harm to either the caster or target.

You can cast this spell as a ritual and you can have multiple chains from multiple targets. Only one person or creature can be targeted per ritual cast (for a total of 5 chains)
