You point your finger at a creature and a shimmering bolt of golden energy fires from it. Make a ranged spell attack against one creature within range. On a hit, the spell deals 3d6 radiant damage. After the initial target, make another attack roll against a different creature that is within 30 feet of the first. Reduce the damage by 1d6 for each target after the first, and the arrow cannot hit a creature that has already been struck by the spell. If any spell attack misses, has no viable target in range or the number of dice is reduced to 0, the spell ends.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, increase the initial damage of the spell by 1d6 and double the material cost of the spell for every level beyond the 1st.

Posted Dec 8, 2018Is this like a chain attack that you can use to hit adjacent enemies?

Posted Jan 31, 2019Essentially, yes. So long as the second enemy is within 30 feet of the first and hasn’t been hit by the arrow already, they can be struck by it.
so you fire it at Goblin 1, who is within 30 feet of you and it deals 3d6 damage. The bolt then bounces to Goblin 2 who is within 30 feet of Goblin 1 and deals 2d6 damage. Goblin 3 is within 30 feet of Goblin 2 and takes 1d6 damage.
