The air around you becomes dense and smells like ozone, a bolt of lightning surges from within and hits a target that you choose that you can see and that is within 20 ft, have them make a dexterity saving throw, taking 8d10 on a failed save or half as much on a successful one. Then have them make a constitution saving throw (your spell save DC + 3), they have disadvantage if wearing metal armour or a metal shield, or if they are wet. If they succeed, nothing happens and the spell ends. If they fail, they chain thew lightning to another target within 20 ft of themselves. The second target repeats the same process with the damage being reduced by 1d8 per chain, to a minimum of 5d10.
