A beam of frigid slush blast forth from your hands in a 5-foot-wide, 60-foot-long line. Creatures that get caught in the icy blast must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a fail save the creature is covered in frost, takes 4d8 cold damage and has it speed halved until the start of your next turn. On a successful save the creature takes half damage and its movement is unaffected.
You can channel the spell for its full duration, or end it early as an action. While channeling the spell you must remain stationary or the spell fails, unless you use your action to move it. You can either use the action to move the end-point of the spell to a new location while staying fixed to your location or use your action to move with the spell while its end point stays fixed.
While channeling the spell all creatures that start their turn in the path of the beam must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a fail save the creature is covered in frost, takes 4d8 cold damage and has it speed halved until the start of your next turn. On a successful save the creature takes half damage and its movement is unaffected.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 4th.
