Upon hitting 0hp for the first time in a combat, you may attempt to spite your enemy by muttering a foul curse with your remaining breath. After casting this spell you immediately fall unconscious and make two death saving throws.
You choose one of the two following modes as you cast it:
Death: You deal an amount equal to 8d8 necrotic damage to target creature that triggered your reaction clause for this spell. When you cast this spell using a slot 5th or higher, you alternate between raising the dice pool by two, (10d8) for example using a 5th slot. And by raising the dice stage by one (10d10) for a 6th slot. A 7th slot is (12d10) Up to a maximum of (12d12) by using an 8th level spell slot.
Suffering: You bestow a curse upon target creature that prompted your reaction clause for this spell. The target must make a Constitution saving throw, or be afflicted with Mummy Rot. On a failed save the curse lasts indefinitely until dispelled. On a successful save, the curse instead lasts only 24 hours. This curse cannot be removed by any means short of a *Greater Restoration* or *Wish* spell.
(Alternatively your DM may come up with a narrative solution that would equally prove quest-worthy in order to cure this curse.)
