Chain Enervation

You fire a bolt of negative energy at one creature you can see.

Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the bolt does 10d6 necrotic damage and the creature must make a successful Constitution saving throw or gain two levels of exhaustion.

The bolt then immediately leaps to another target within 30 feet of the previous target that hasn’t already been targeted by the spell; you choose which target to attack, if more than one is available. Make another ranged spell attack for that target.

The effect continues attacking creatures one after another in a chain until it misses or there are no more creatures eligible to be hit.
