You hurl a blast of air at a creature or object within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d6 thunder damage. Any creature or object hit will be knocked back by 15ft.
If the creature is knocked back into a wall, the target takes half of the original damage ( bludgeoning damage ).
This spell's damage increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th level ( knocked backed 25 ft. 2d6), 10th level (3d6), and 15th level ( knocked backed 50 ft. 4d6).

Posted Jul 31, 2020okay, let's compare this to existing first level spells:
*chaos bolt: 2d8+1d6 damage, might jump to another target.
*magic missile: 3d8 damage, always hits.
* chromatic orb: 3d8 damage, you can change the damage type.
your spell, however, deals a mere 1d6 of damage, and knocks the target back 15ft. which doesn't do much, considering that 95% of creatures in the game have 30ft of free movement every turn.
it would do okay as a cantrip if you maybe bumped it up to a d8
