To cast this spell you must have made the following preparations.
First you must have spent an hour preparing a piece of paper, turning it into a magical contract. This contract usually has to do with the creature performing a certain task for you in exchange for you giving them a certain reward after but with a spell like this the possibilities are practically infinite. However you must also specify a punishment for yourself if you do not uphold your end of the bargain to make it magically binding.
Then you must approach a creature of CR 0.25 or less with an intelligence of 5 or above and get them to sign said contract. If said creature dies before you make them fulfill their end of the bargain, the contract fizzles to dust.
If these conditions are met you can hold out the contract at any time (unless specified otherwise) saying “I summon thy bound one, uphold your end of the bargain and perform your duties well”! Upon saying this the bound creature appears in a flash of light and performs said task even if they have changed their mind. However if you fail to give the creature promised reward you take the punishment specified in the contract. If the creature dies before you can uphold your end of the bargain you do not have to give them their reward. If you kill the creature before you can uphold your end of the bargain you suffer the punishment specified in the contract. (This is only under the circumstances if the spell is used traditionally, due to the nature of it the possibilities are nigh infinite for the spell’s application.)
