A lance-like beam of glamorous force cascades from you in a direction you choose. Each creature in a line must make a Constitution saving throw. This line ignores all physical obstructions. A creature takes 4d8 Force damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.
This spell grows in power the more damage it deals. Resolve damage for each individual creature, starting closest to you and progressing through the line, rather than rolling for the entire spell.
Roll for damage. On a roll of 7 or 8 on any d8, roll 1 additional d8. These rolls are not excluded from this effect.
If creatures have already taken damage from this spell, roll 1 additional d8 for each creature damaged. The maximum amount of dice this effect can add is equal to the level this spell is cast at.
If this spell is cast at 4th level, you can get up to 4 bonus dice from creatures hit. If this spell is cast at 8th level, you get up to 8 bonus dice from creatures hit.
These rolls are also not excluded from the prior effect.
This spells range exceeds its normal range, but weakens sharply. For every 5 feet beyond 60, roll 1 less damage dice when rolling for damage. The lance ends at 80 feet.
If a creature is reduced to 0 hit points by this spell, their body is wracked with force, contorting the body and dislocating joints. Any creature subject to this effect makes death saves at disadvantage, and furthermore makes all rolls which use their Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution modifier at disadvantage until they are healed to their hit point maximum.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the base damage roll increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 4th. If you cast this spell with a 9th level spell slot, roll 2 additional d8's whenever called to roll 1 additional d8. This equates to gaining up to 9 bonus dice from creatures hit, and then doubling your actual amount.
