Upon casting this spell, the caster immediately takes 5 points of damage as they conjure up a Swarm of Spiders that vacates their mouth in a frenzy, which appears within 5 feet of the caster (if no valid space exists, the swarm will spawn in the same space as the caster). The Spiders roll their own initiative. As long as the caster maintains concentration, the swarm of spiders are allied to the caster and will follow their command. If concentration is lost, the spiders act of their own volition until the end of the duration, when they will disperse and flee.

At higher levels: Additional Swarm of Spiders appear for each level cast above 2nd, up to a maximum of five swarms at 7th level.
