You touch an item, learning various things about its past. You may learn the following things:

• Its creator (if applicable)
• How to activate it, including they pass code if it has one
• When it was last activated or used for its intended purpose
• If the item has been used for evil or good over its lifetime

If an item has been affected by the nondetection spell, the spell fails. If the item was at some point affected by the nondetection spell in the past, you cannot learn of anything from the duration the spell affected it.

Other spells that prevent learning of the true nature or learn false information will not be detected by this spell, and will provide you with the false information decided by that spell.
