You touch one object that is no larger than 10 feet in any dimension. Until the spell ends, the object reduces the intensity of light in a 40-foot radius. The light can only be reduced to dim light unless the area you are in is naturally dark. A light is reduced by 2 degrees (negating bright light) within 20 feet and 1 degree for an additional 20 feet (bright light to dim light etc.), for more information see Vision and Light in the adventuring section of the basic rules. Completely covering the object with something opaque blocks the effect. The spell ends if you cast it again or dismiss it as an action.
If you target an object held or worn by a hostile creature, that creature must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw to avoid the spell.
