A small orb of deep prismatic reds and purples conjure in your palm that absorbs energy from your surroundings, slowly growing in size until it spills out light from your hands. When you initially cast this spell, you can shoot a large ray of dark saturated colors doing 5d10 radiant damage, but alternatively you can focus it’s energy into a larger orb. Until the spell ends, either because your concentration is broken or because you decide to end it, you can use your bonus action to continue focusing the orb’s power adding 5d10 to the total damage.
If you use your action to end the spell intentionally, the target must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save the target takes the full amount of damage, and half as much on a successful one. If the spell ends due to your concentration being broken, roll a d8. On a 1-2 the spell’s target becomes the caster, and you must make a Dexterity saving throw against your own spell save, on a 3-4 the spell targets the closest creature to you, weather they be an ally or enemy, and on a 5-8 the spell fizzles, and hits no one.
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the amount of rounds you can concentrate on the spell is increased by one, giving you extra rounds to focus as a bonus action.
