As you cast this spell you touch a willing creature and a magic item of rare or lesser rarity. If the item can be attuned to, and the creature meets all the requirements to attune to it, the creature immediately counts as being attuned, though they need not use one of their attunement slots to do so for as long as the spell lasts or if the creature and item are more than 100 feet away from one another.
The creature effected by this spell becomes proficient with the item for the duration of the spell, if they were not already, and they understand its properties as if they had attuned to it.
When this spell ends, the creature may choose to become attuned to the item using one of their slots as if they just spent a short rest attuning to it. If the magic item was cursed and the conditions of the curse require the creature to remain attuned to the item, then they must become attuned using one of their attunement slots.
At Higher Levels: For every spell level above 6th that you cast this spell, you may cast this spell on a magic item of the next level of rarity after rare. For instance, using a 7th level slot you may cast this spell on a very rare item, or at 8th level on Legendary items.
