When you cast this spell, choose one pile of bones or a corpse of a Medium of Small Humanoid within range. The target is then raised as an undead creature - a Skeleton if a pile of bones is the target, or a Zombie if a Corpse is the target. Once raised, the Skeleton/Zombie takes it's turn directly after yours on the same Initiative Step.
For the duration of the spell, you can use a Bonus Action to telepathically command the Skeleton/Zombie to take Movement, Actions and Bonus Actions on its next turn as long as the Skeleton/Zombie is within 60 feet of you. If you do not issue any commands on your turn, then it will spend its turn doing nothing it is not compelled to do.
The Skeleton/Zombie returns to being a pile of bones or a corpse (respectively) if it drops to 0 Hit Points, is no longer on the same Plane of Existence as you, or the spell ends.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd-level or higher, you can raise on additional Skeleton/Zombie for each slot level above 2nd. When you spend your Bonus Action to telepathically issue commands, you can command any or all of the Skeletons/Zombies raised by this spell.
