You unleash a devastating wave of fire and ash in a 60-foot cone in front of you. Any creature in the area of the spell must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. A creature takes 8d8 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success.
For the next minute, the DM can force you to roll once on the Wild Magic table whenever you cast a spell of 1st level or higher. If you re-cast this spell in the next minute and the DM has not forced a roll on the Wild Magic table in that time, a wild magic surge happens immediately afterwards. After a wild magic surge occurs, you cannot be forced to roll on the Wild Magic table again until the end of your next turn.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the initial damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 5th.
