This spell creates a ward in a given area. There are two possible uses for the spell, granting either immediate or long-term benefits.

If you cast this spell using 1 action, choose a point within range. A transparent, shimmering veil made of pure magical force springs forth from that point and forms a 10-foot radius sphere, which lasts for 1 minute or until your concentration is broken. Creatures and objects inside of this sphere cannot be targeted by ranged attacks or magical effects made by creatures outside of this sphere, as objects that are not being worn or carried may not pass through from the outside, and any magical effect sputters out upon entering the sphere.

If you cast this spell over 8 hours, you create either wall that is up to 60 feet long, 30 feet tall that need not be a straight line, or a 30-foot radius sphere of shimmering magical force that lasts until dispelled. Creatures and objects inside of this sphere cannot be targeted by ranged attacks or magical effects made by creatures outside of this sphere, as objects that are not being worn or carried may not pass through from the outside, and any magical effect sputters out upon entering the sphere. Which side of the wall is the inside is decided by you as you cast it.

In order to dispel this magical effect, the center of the sphere must be targeted by the dispel magic spell.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell with a casting time of 8 hours using a spell slot of 5th level, the radius of the sphere is 50 feet, or the wall is 100 feet long and 50 feet tall. When you cast this spell with a casting time of 8 hours using a spell slot of 6th level, the radius of the sphere is 70 feet, or the wall is 200 feet long and 100 feet tall. When you cast this spell with a casting time of 8 hours using a spell slot of 7th level, the radius of the sphere is 200 feet, or the wall is 400 feet long and 200 feet tall. When you cast this spell with a casting time of 8 hours using a spell slot of 8th level, the radius of the sphere is 500 feet, or the wall is 1000 feet long and 500 feet tall. When you cast this spell with a casting time of 8 hours using a spell slot of 9th level, the radius of the sphere is 1 mile, and the wall is 2 miles long and 1 mile tall.
