You invoke the element of air around your hilt. The air swirls faster in the area where a blade would be. The blade exists while you are holding the hilt until the spell ends. If you let go of the hilt and the spell is still active, the blade reappears when you pick up the hilt.
You can use this blade to attack as an action. Make a melee spell attack. On a hit, it deals 2d6 magical bludgeoning damage.
As a reaction, you can use this blade and the air it controls to parry incoming ranged attacks. You can use you reaction to add your proficiency bonus to your AC for that attack, potentially causing the attack to miss.
At higher levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd.
