You cause up to 100 tree stumps to burst from places on the ground that you can see within range, in an outdoor, uncovered location (the stumps must appear outside, but you do not have to be). Each stump has a height of up to 10 feet, which you control. The ground where a stump appears must be wide enough for its diameter, and you can target the ground under a creature if that creature is Medium or smaller. Each stump has AC 5 and 10 hit points. When reduced to 0 hit points, a stump falls like a felled tree, and can be used as firewood before the spell has expired.
If a stump is created under a creature, that creature must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be lifted by the stump. A creature can choose to fail the save. For huge and larger creatures, the area in which the stumps appear becomes difficult terrain.
If a stump is prevented from reaching its full height because of an immovable obstacle, a creature on the pillar is knocked off and takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, you can create twenty additional stumps for each slot level above 4th.
