You create a magical ward that reduces the impact of a spell. When you take damage from a spell but before damage is applied, you reduce the spell's damage by 1d10 + the level you cast this spell. If the spell's damage is reduced to 0, you gain advantage on the first spell attack you make on your next turn.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage reduction increases by 1d10 for each level above 2nd.

At the moment there isn't a modifier that I can find that can be used for "damage reduction" to still allow dice to be rolled. The compromise that I made is I put the dice modifier as "additional" so there is no damage type tied to this homebrew, but all the dice and scaling is correct. Once there is a modifier in place that allows this to function 100% the way intended then I'll make an update, but for now I hope this spell can save some lives.
