"The dead beneath the ground are countless, for as many that have lived, an unfathomable more have died" - Me, just now

You pick an area within range and from it sprouts a haunted path of maleficent skeletons and ghouls in an area walled with bone like structures and fences. The boneyard is a maximum of 30ft x 60ft. The caster may designate up 8 creatures who are exempt from the effects of the boneyard and can pass through it freely. Non-designated creatures must succeed on a Wisdom save against the caster's spell DC or are frightened by the boneyard. Creatures that pass the Wisdom save may walk into the area which acts a magical difficult terrain, and deals 8d8 necrotic damage at the start of each creatures turn from the onslaught of undead creatures.
Using a feature such as Turn Undead within the boneyard half's the damage for the duration of the feature or spell, but does not negate the difficult terrain.

Casting at higher levels increase the total damage die by 1d8
