Choose one monster or creature within 60 feet that you can see. The chosen creature makes a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, you learn one of the following pieces of information pertaining to it, or a unique one at the DM’s discretion:

  • The creature’s current hit points or its hit point maximum
  • The creature’s race or class (if applicable)
  • The creature’s basic information (i.e. height, weight, age, etc.)
  • The creature’s name (or nickname if knowing its true name would imbalance the game)
  • The creature’s possessions
  • One of the creature’s ability scores
  • One piece of lore about the creature - consult the Monster Manual for creature lore. No check is required if the lore is learned in this way.
