You attempt to force strange hallucinations upon the target, and can make them see and hear things that aren't real. That creature must succeed an intelligence saving throw to avoid the effects of this spell. If they fail the saving throw, you can cause them to see and hear things that aren't real, but if touched are revealed to be illusions. Additionally, for the duration, you can make the target experience one of the following negative effects from the spell.

  • Once the spell's duration has ended and the hallucinations have stopped, the target must roll on the Short Term Madness table. 
  • While the hallucinations last, the target has disadvantage on wisdom saving throws and wisdom checks. 
  • The target has disadvantage on attack rolls due to the distracting nature of the hallucinations.
  •  The target's intelligence score is reduced by 5 for the duration. If this reduces their intelligence score to 0 then for the duration they experience the hallucinations in a comatose state. 

At Higher Levels. If you cast this using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the maximum duration is increased to 24 hours.
