You conjure up a wall ominous shadows on the ground at a point you can see within range. You can make the wall up to 30 feet long, 10 feet high, and 1 foot thick, or you can make a ringed wall up to 20 feet in diameter, 20 feet high, and 1 foot thick. The wall vanishes when the spell ends.
Although the wall is not substantial, a creature that attempts to pass through the was must make a Wisdom saving throw or be halted at its edge, reducing any remaining movement the creature has to zero. A creature can attempt to pass through the wall any number of times but each previous failure imposed a cumulative -1 penalty to the save.
The walk is formed from magical darkness. A creature with darkvision can’t see through this darkness, and nonmagical light can’t illuminate it. If any of this spell’s area overlaps with an area of light created by a spell of 2nd level or lower, the spell that created the light is dispelled.
