As part of the action used to cast this spell, you must choose a melee weapon to be used as the instrument for casting, otherwise the spell fails. You slice through the air, causing a biting wind to follow through in the wake of your swing. Creatures in a 15-foot cone originating from you must make a Dexterity saving throw. A target takes damage equal to the melee weapon's damage die + 1d6 slashing damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. 

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 1st.
